Single pumps

In the radial piston pumps the pumping cylinders, equipped with suction and delivery valves, are arranged in a star shape around an eccentric which, with the help of the return springs of the pistons, provides for the reciprocating suction and pressing motion.

Five sizes are provided for the pistons, so that the minors allow higher pressures while the larger ones deliver higher flow rates.

Of modular design, the pumping elements (like the relative valves) are easily replaceable or can be exchanged with others of different bore if it needs to change the characteristics of the pump.

Being ready for immersion or for outdoor installation and with different types of shafts, the PR pumps allow various installation possibilities, including the combination with pumps and gears.

Installation

PR pumps must be placed under the head and in a position suitable for their correct feeding.
– In installations outside the tank, the position of the pump must prevent stagnation and the formation of internal air bubbles so
that the appliance, still or functioning, always remains filled with oil.
This also applies to any external filter in suction and to the inlet duct, whose internal diameter must not be less than 15 mm.
– For a leaf of more than 3 meters, request the pump with support on the shaft seal.
– In submerged installations, only must be used without caps, which must be located with the suction orifices below the minimum
level that can be reached by the oil during operation.

Filtering

Normally install a suitable filter on the return pipe to the maximum value of the discharge flow.
In general, a 40 micron filtration is recommended, or;
– for discontinuous service and / or hard work: 90 ÷ 60 microns
– for continuous service and / or heavy duty: 60 ÷ 25 microns
A suction filter is exceptionally permissible, but not applicable to pumps without caps. Then limit the use of these filters to systems with discontinuous and / or light service, frequently inspecting them if immersed or if they do not have a clogging indicator.
Then install on the tank an air filter proportionate to the degree of environmental pollution.

Warnings for start-up and use

Once the oil has been filled and the air is well drained, the pump is activated by operating it by impulse, without subjecting it to pressure. Excessive noise and / or pulsations The irregular ones indicate an incomplete primer: insist with impulse rotation and with possible very short pressures. it will rarely be necessary to fill the cylinders through the orifices of the suction valves.
– During the first hours of work, check the filter several times, especially if it is on the suction side.
– When starting cold, start the exercise only after several minutes of modest pressure.
– Especially for heavy duty or continuous use, we recommend:
1) check the cleaning of the oil and air filters every month, the degree of aging and dirt of the fluid, and its level;
2) replace the oil after about 2000 hours of service or 1 ÷ 2 times a year, after washing the tank;
3) occasionally check that, during operation, the oil temperature does not exceed 60 ÷ 70 ° C.
